It's a nice and quiet budget hotel with very kind and helpful staff. I would choose to stay again. - Central location with good bus and subway connections very close by (check the reviews for a comment on the step-free exit from the subway - it was helpful). - Exceptionally helpful and attentive staff. - The bathroom was relatively big, very clean and well maintained. - Buffet breakfast looked fresh and flavoursome. The layout made it look small but there was a lot of Asian food to choose from. There were fewer continental-type options but there was cereal available as well as fresh pastry and jam. There were a few vegetarian and vegan options too. The breakfast area looked clean. - The hotel offers free shuttle service to the Gold Pavilion and the bamboo grove which is a nice touch. - A kettle and cups are available in the room; bottled water is provided if the basic cleaning service is selected. - There are two paid washing machines/dryers in the basement. We used the service and it worked. It didn't bother us but the room didn't have any view. Many thanks to the staff who helped us enjoy our stay.

Well suited for tourists, everything is translated and the staff speaks very good English. We were welcomed well. Easy check in and out. Large room. Very clean. Trash bins emptied daily, which was appreciated in Japan. Towels changed daily. Washing machines in good condition, easy to use. Safe area. Fast wifi in the room. Grocery store right next door. Free teas and alcohol at the entrance. Blackout curtains, we slept well. Big shower, amazing. Bottled water offered as rewards for eco-friendly behavior. Several western options at the morning buffet, it was excellent. We loved the little sofa in front of the window to have our tea in the morning. Several Japanese channels on TV. Space for hanging laundry. Fridge.

Really lovely and friendly staff. Location was great, 5 minute walk to imperial palace gardens and 15 minute walk to the markets. Excellent manga museum a fre hundred metres away and plenty of convenience stores nearby. Breakfast buffet was a nice mix of Western and Japanese, with vegetarian options as well. We stayed in a family suite which was a great size for 4 with luggage, and very quiet at night. Kyoto is a beautiful city, and the staff at hotel MONday were kind and helpful with all of our questions, and stored our luggage ahead of, and after checkout to help us a no cost. I can't wait to go back to Kyoto and will be staying here again when I do.

We had a wonderful stay here. Clean rooms and toilets. The night gowns provided in the room were really nice and comfortable. Room size was as per expectations. Not too small. The hotel has tie-up with Yamato service which makes it easy for receiving or transporting luggage. Staff was very polite and helpful. The hotel itself in a good and quiet locality despite being on the main road. Subway station, restaurants and convenience store at a walkable distance. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel as well for buses of certain roots.

Very hospitable and friendly staff. It was evident that the staff came from various backgrounds and they are able to communicate with guests from different nationalities which is a definite plus. They were very helpful and attentive as well and was able to provide solutions to any problems you may have. After going through so many hotels in Japan, I would say the hospitality here was even better than a four star hotel I stayed at in Tokyo.
