Really lovely and friendly staff. Location was great, 5 minute walk to imperial palace gardens and 15 minute walk to the markets. Excellent manga museum a fre hundred metres away and plenty of convenience stores nearby. Breakfast buffet was a nice mix of Western and Japanese, with vegetarian options as well. We stayed in a family suite which was a great size for 4 with luggage, and very quiet at night. Kyoto is a beautiful city, and the staff at hotel MONday were kind and helpful with all of our questions, and stored our luggage ahead of, and after checkout to help us a no cost. I can't wait to go back to Kyoto and will be staying here again when I do.

Very hospitable and friendly staff. It was evident that the staff came from various backgrounds and they are able to communicate with guests from different nationalities which is a definite plus. They were very helpful and attentive as well and was able to provide solutions to any problems you may have. After going through so many hotels in Japan, I would say the hospitality here was even better than a four star hotel I stayed at in Tokyo.

Breakfast could have been more international. Preparation of food and temperature of food was unsatisfactory. Hot food needs to be in warming chafers. Eggs were cold, meat was cold and potatoes were undercooked and cold. Bread selection could be much more varied. Warm milk for coffee is always a plus. Cold milk drops temperature of coffee. A selection of cheeses and more fresh fruit would help.

Great hotel with great staff in a great location. I actually booked a second consecutive week as I enjoyed my first week so much. I wasn't leaving Kyoto yet, so why not stay here and enjoy another week? This hotel is reasonably priced and is in a super convenient location, close to the subway, convenience store, grocery store & several restaurants. I highly recommend you try this hotel.

Convenient location from subway station and places of interest (Pontocho, Nishiki and other markets). Very clean hotel. Saff was very friendly and hospitable. Laundry system was really cool (you could see on the room's TV when the facilities were available or in use). Breakfast was excellent quality and diversity.
